With every new month, we receive a new beginning. An opportunity to punch life in the face and be the best version of you! In my mission to spread happiness, I have started a monthly calendar that will hopefully serve as a source of inspiration and a reminder to get out there, get happy and spread the joy! We begin with November, the most thankful month of the year. This year has been more than difficult for most and we must take care of ourselves and others if we are to persevere. You CAN do this! I have faith in you and our world. Now GET OUT THERE and GET HAPPY! Download the Calendar right here!

Detectives: Can you solve this?! Which piece of evidence would you collect from the crime scene and why?
Space Balls a Team Building exercise!!! I love this idea....perhaps I love the name of it more...... This is a fun and easy exercise that can be done with any size team in-person or virtually and needs 0 supplies!
It sounds like something odd, but it really is as simple as can be!
Space Balls are balls that are made up of nothing but space
Space Balls is a great game for team building, but also works on focus, concentration, and imagination! It works well in morning meeting, or any time of day they need a
To start, establish what a space ball actually is: a ball made of space! Since you can't see the ball, it's important to show the size, shape, and weight of the ball by the way you hold the ball.
Then, slowly pass the space ball around the circle.
Participants should watch to see that the ball maintains its size and shape.
Next, introduce a "new" space ball, and review the concept by passing the ball around the circle again. Make the new space ball somewhat different from the first one. (smaller, heavier, etc.)
When the ball completes the circle, it's a good time to break the group into groups of 2 or 3 to play catch with the space balls. (Have some fun passing out space balls to each small group! Encourage their creativity by asking what sort of ball they want, then slowly taking that ball out of your "box" for them to see!)
Another option is to toss the space ball to someone across the circle. (See photo at top.) In these cases, remind the participants to show the size and shape of the ball, remembering to maintain the size and shape.
You can continue by introducing the idea of changing the space ball. Model squishing the space into a very small ball, or stretching it into a very large ball. The space can also become quite heavy (grunting is encouraged) or it can become quite light like a balloon. The participants hands and body language should always show the size, shape, and weight of the space ball, so their partner can follow.
Now it's time to let the group to be creative: pass a space ball around the circle, letting the participants change the space ball any way they want to. The participants should be very clear in taking the space ball from the previous person, maintaining its shape, then showing the group how they are changing the space ball.

Team Building Tip #29
We all need to know our work is important. We need to know that what we spend 8 plus hours a day on has a meaning or a purpose. Yes a paycheck is a purpose but for most individuals it is more than that. We leave our homes and our families and many other amazing things to spend an enormous amount of time at WORK, what we do must matter, must contribute, must deserve some recognition to help support our PURPOSE for being there and the work we do.
This is not just about giving away gift cards and telling someone what a great job they did. This is about showing your team members how WHAT they do is connected to everything else in the organization and HOW it impacts the potential success or even failure of the whole. Support your team by
1.Talking about how their work flows into different parts of the organization
2. Show them what would happen if their Job didn’t exist
3. Ask other departments to share their experiences with your team. The good and the bad
4. Take them on a “field trip” to meet other departments and to physically see what happens before their work and afternoon their work
Show your team how much they matter and watch them RISE to the occasion! #teambuilding #teamculture #teamwork #leadership #greatleaders #teamspirit #friday
